How to Stay Protected With Sun Protection Clothing

Protect yourself from the sun’s harmful rays by wearing sun protection clothing. Lotions that contain chemicals that are supposed to shield UV rays offer some protection, but they are not as effective as clothing. Clothes and hats that are designed to cover you completely offer you the safest way to avoid exposure to harmful rays from the sun.
First: Choose clothes that cover
Long-sleeved shirts that have collars give you the kind of coverage that hides your skin from the sun. Wear long pants and socks with your shoes to protect your legs and feet. Choose clothes that are made of fabrics that have some substance to them. A thin scarf or a lacy shawl do little to protect you. While heavy fabrics are hot, they are the most effective.
Second: Select a proper hat
A hat with a brim that goes all the way around your head is the best choice. If you wear a baseball cap, you get some protection on your face, but you do not get any on the top of your ears or the back of your neck. Those areas are especially susceptible to the damaging rays because they have little exposure to the sun.
Third: Remember to shield your eyes
Wear sunglasses that block UV rays completely from the front and the sides. Get the kind that has lenses that wrap around to the side to prevent the rays entering that way. Most sunglasses have this kind of protection, even when the glasses themselves are not expensive.
