Sun Protective Clothing

Melanoma is a dangerous form of skin cancer that is caused by overexposure to the sun. To minimize exposure it is recommended that you protect yourself from the sun by wearing protective clothing, such as long-sleeve shirts, pants and hats. Covering your arms and legs while on the beach or hiking through the forest with light, protective clothing helps to ensure your health while exposed to the elements.
The sun is common in all types of climates
The sun is usually associated with a warm or hot environment; however, it is common for cold environments to have sun as well. In places where snow is prevalent the sun can easily reflect off of the cold white ground magnifying the exposure rate; simply wearing long sleeves, a hat and sunglasses while outside helps to prevent overexposure and keeps you warm as well. In places of high altitude whether in a desert or on a mountain, you are also closer to the sun. By thinking smart and making a few simple preparations ahead of time you can dress properly to reduce your risk of overexposure to too much sun.
It is always important to enjoy the sun, but respect it as well. Take it in moderate doses, by tanning too much or by carelessness in the sun, it could result in more than just a sunburn. It is always a good thing to practice caution and know your body’s limits while interacting in sunny climates. Protective sun clothing enables you to enjoy those sunny climates while minimizing the risk of overexposure.
